Pumpkin Patch

With all the cold and rain we've had this October, our visit to the pumkin patch was delayed until today. And of course, as soon as we got there, it started sprinkling. Everything was still pretty muddy and wet, so we didn't stay long, but did manage to get some cute pictures. Both girls had some much fun climbing on all the rocks and just having room to run free!

Surprise!!!

My 30th birthday was on the 4th of October. It was a great day. My big present was a pair of Uggs that I have been eyeing for years but would never buy! I was soooo excited!! Kevin had planned for my parents to watch the girls while we went to lunch and a movie. Mom offered to make us dinner that night (which she usually does on my birthday, but this time she didn't seem too enthused.) We ate dinner and brought the girls home and then I realized that I didn't even get a birthday cake.

Yes. I was disappointed. I mean after all this was a big birthday. I pouted to Kevin and him and the girls made me a Reese's cup with a candle and sang to me!

The next week went on as normal. We had planned to go to dinner with our good friends, Koyie and Meghan, and the girls were going to stay with Nana and Papa. So, off we went. When we arrived Dad was overly excited about some purchase he made when they supposedly went to Oklahoma early that day. He led me to the garage where I was greeted by lots of friends and family yelling "SURPRISE." For the first time ever, I got a surprise party! It was Meggan and Geoff's idea that they helped pull off with the help of mom. Below are lots of pictures in no particular order!

Pictures of me everywhere, some very cute, others that make me want to hide.

Klara showing Laney how the glow sticks work!

The only picture of my cake!!! It was YUMMY!!

Lucy was surprised too! She had no idea her cousins would be there!

Pretty Toes

Lucy had asked me to paint her fingers and toes tonight, and since Laney was still up, I had to do hers too! It was a first for Laney and she really wasn't too sure what to think about the color on her toes. She did great, sitting perfectly still while I unsteadily painted her little piggies.

Carnival Crazies

Our town's annual Fall Festival was recently and Lucy couldn't wait. She remembered it well from last year and talked about all the rides with vivid memories. Set-up started on Wednesday and when I told Lucy I saw carnival workers she was so excited! We set off in the morning hoping to beat the crowd, and we did! Lucy rode all the little kid rides while Laney watched with jealously from her stroller. I think they would have let Laney sit with Lucy on some (just to collect the money) but Laney is a little Houdini and I wouldn't trust her! Laney did ride the carousel, and I held her entire time while she cried. The highlight of the entire day was all four of us riding the Ferris wheel. It took a little convincing for Lucy, but once we started, it was great. The funniest moment was when we were at the top while they were loading the Ferris wheel; Lucy gets this great look on her face and exclaims "There's Sonic!!!"
