On Monday we took a little trip up to Hutchinson for the Kansas State Fair. The three of us left sunny, 80 degree Wichita around 11 am, in short sleeves and shorts and arrived in Hutch 45 minutes later, where it was drizzling and about 59 degrees out. Of course, we had no umbrella or coats. At least Lucy had her blanket, a stroller with a shade and socks pulled up to her knees.
We ran from building to building checking out all the livestock. Lucy loved the poultry building where all the roosters were "cock-a-doodling." The donkey, like in Shrek, was also one of her favorites. Our last stop was the ponies. We may have been freezing, but Lucy's face while riding Lucy the pony was worth every chill bump! She laughed the whole way saying "giddy up" and "Lucy, like me!"
