Today was Lucy's first official visit to the dentist.
Twice before she has gone with me and watched hesitantly. Twice before she wouldn't even climb in the chair. Twice before she has stated she would go when she was 5. (That's her phrase for everything she doesn't want to do.)
I told her that we were going and that if she was really, really good there was a HUGE surprise waiting for her. And to make it even a bigger deal, Laney was left with Nana and Daddy came along too.
Lucy said that I needed to go first and she and Kevin waited patiently. When it was her turn she didn't even hesitate. Right up in the chair she climbed like she'd done it a million times. She wasn't even shy with the hygienist nor the doctor.
She thought it was cool to wear the sunglasses to keep the bright light out of her eyes, and even cooler that there was a TV screen above her with Max and Ruby on. And of course, she was thrilled with a new butterfly toothbrush!
After the dentist, Kevin and I pulled a little trick and told her she needed a haircut before her surprise (since she dislikes going) and lo and behold she didn't even put up a fight about that. Climbed right on the pony and let the girl cut 3 inches off her beautiful head! It looks sooooo much better!
Finally, the fun began! We went next door to Blockbuster and Lucy got 3 movies!! All Christmas themed...she's ready! And for the big surprise...
We went to the mall where they have a trampoline thingy! She was more than excited! She hurriedly took off her shoes and climbed right up and got harnessed in! In her words, she was butterfly like on her new toothbrush!
It was such a great day, for all three of us! Lucy completely exceeded our expectations for the entire day! We are so blessed with such a wonderful girl!
