The forecast was SNOW, SNOW and more SNOW. It started falling mid-morning Friday as sleet and was a wintry mix all afternoon. By late evening, we were seeing some mighty big snowflakes. Lucy was so excited Friday night, talking about going outside Saturday and sledding and making snowmen and throwing snowballs. We thought she was just talking the talk because past experience has led us to believe that she wasn't a big fan of playing in the snow.
Times change.
To say she had a blast is an understatement. We bundled up while Laney was taking a nap and headed out. We had somewhere around 4-6 inches (other places west of Wichita had 28 inches) of snow and it was GOOD snow. The kind that makes great snowballs. The kind you can walk on and hear the subtle crunch.

Bundled up and ready to go!

Her 4-wheeler doesn't do so great in snow.

Look who woke up to join the fun!

Laney chilling in her sled.

Our snowman. He had a carrot nose and jellybean eyes! Lucy ran into the kitchen Sunday afternoon with such gusto and exclaimed, "Mommy, I have the perfect name for our snowman...FROSTY!" How original!
Last year Lucy cried when she fell out of the sled. This year she was falling out on purpose. She just cackled and kept wanting more! I love her face as she threw snowballs at us!
Laney's first ride in the sled!
