Lincoln, NE 2010

This past week the girls and I decided to go visit daddy on the road.  We made the relatively short trip, 4 hours, to Lincoln, Nebraska.  I made sure the car was stocked with lots of movies and snacks and off we went.   You never really know what you are going to get with Laney in the car….the trip up she pretty good.  She didn’t want to get back in after our 2 pit stops, but hey, neither did I.  The trip home was just okay.  They were both really tired and grouchy.  Lucy asked 1,000 times how many more hours and she managed to sleep about 45 minutes.   Laney managed a whooping 25 minutes of sleep!!  I was just impressed she fell asleep in the first place!

While we were in Lincoln, we had tons of fun.  We enjoyed 2 beautiful nights at a really nice ballpark, ate yummy donuts twice,  jumped on the hotel beds quite a bit (the kids, not us), and visited the Children’s Museum of Lincoln.  The museum made the entire trip worth it!

There were tractors, semi-trucks and boats to drive.  A truck stop diner to get a quick meal and a HUGE chair, which neither kid wanted to climb up in!

The Prairie Dog Village was Lucy’s favorite.  It was really cool.  Kids could climb in any of the holes and they would “pop” out somewhere else.

The stage area was Laney’s favorite.  Backstage there were TONS of clothes to dress up in.  The stage area had different backdrops that could be changed and a control area where you could sit and control the lights.  There was also a TV in front of the stage that the kids could see themselves on!

Upstairs was the airport and space shuttle stations.  In the air traffic control tower you could talk to the 2 planes and you had to go through security in the terminal!  So cute!

There was so many other things that I didn’t get pictures of because we were too busy playing!  The main floor was “The Town.”  This had the grocery store, the vet, the doctor, the sports fields, the fire and police department and the post office.  Each place had a mail box and you could deliver mail to and from the post office! It was really cool!

Of course what trip to a hotel would be complete without jumping on the beds!  They would go from one bed to the ottoman to the other bed….making their mama a nervous wreck the whole time!  Notice how Daddy is the one instigating it all!

Lucy is ready to go back, in fact she told me we could move there and live in the hotel and go to the museum every day!
